FAQs

Nope! We believe food is a basic human right. There is no need to register, fill out paperwork, give identification, etc. Just show up and you will be given a meal!
-
Meals range from sandwiches, to pastas, casseroles, hot dogs, and more. All food is ready-to-eat, no heating, cooking, or preparation required. Alternatives are typically offered for foods with common allergens (such as peanuts), but we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination may not take place. Dinners will usually, but not always, include a main dish, a side or sweet, and a drink or cup (which can be filled at the water fountain/bottle refill station we serve by). If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out!
-
From November 1 to February 29, dinner is served daily at 4 pm. Our volunteers stay until 4:30 pm or until all of the food is gone, whichever comes first.
We are not permitted to leave any food behind, and food often goes quickly, so please try to arrive as close to the start time as possible.

On a daily basis, we can provide only meals. However, Knox Needs holds frequent events where we, along with community partners, distribute supplies such as socks, first aid kits, hygiene/personal care supplies, bug spray, sunscreen, emergency contraception, condoms, and Naloxone.
